1. What is WebFax?
WebFax is a send and receive virtual fax service provided by Etisalat. The subscriber can send faxes from WebFax website www.webfax.ae and receive faxes in his e-mail box.
2. How can I subscribe to WebFax?
You can subscribe online from Etisalat portal e4Me or by visiting any Etisalat Business Center. To subscribe online you have to register on e4Me first. If you want to subscribe at an Etisalat business center you need to fill a subscription form and submit it to the counter.
3. How can I use WebFax?
WebFax does not require any extra software. To send a fax you have to log on the WebFax web site www.webfax.ae with your user ID and password and submit the fax from there. Faxes sent to your WebFax number will be automatically forwarded to your e-mail .
4. What user ID and password shall I use for logging on the WebFax web site?
The Webfax user ID is the last six digits of your WebFax number provided to you when you subscribed to the service. E.g. if your WebFax number is 084xxxxxx, then your ID should be xxxxxx. The password is the four digits number you have typed when you registered from e4Me. If you have registered from Etisalat Business center, you can scratch the back of the card to get it
5. I am confused with Webfax number and Webfax ID?
Webfax number is the nine digits fax number on which you can receive faxes e.g. 084xxxxxx, where as the Webfax ID is the Last 6 digits of your Webfax number that you will use to log on the website.
6. How do I receive my Faxes?
Faxes sent to your WebFax number are automatically sent to your e-mail.
7. How can I send a fax message?
For sending faxes you have to log on to WebFax website www.webfax.ae , compose your message from the “Compose Message” option, specify a single or multiple addresses you want to send the fax to, write the message text and optionally attach one or more documents and click on the “Send” button to submit the message.
8. Can I send to multiple destinations?
Yes, you can send messages to single or multiple destinations. By default one address field is available. If you want to send to more than one address, you have to type the number of addresses in the “Add Contact” Box.
9. Can I send messages to groups of fax destinations?
Yes, you can send fax messages to groups of fax destinations by creating a User Distribution List and send the message to this UDL by specifying its number in the address field.
10. How can I create a User Distribution List?
Click on the link “Distribution Lists” under the “Account management” Section and create a group first e.g. “0001”. Once the Group is created, you can add the addresses to the group one by one or by uploading them from an Excel file (CSV format) or text file.
11. Can I defer the delivery time of the message I am submitting?
Yes, you can defer the delivery of the message by setting the time in the “Delivery Time “option while composing the message.
12. What is the Webfax Address Book?
Webfax Address book is the contacts storing facility where you can save commonly used addresses in your Webfax account.
13. How can I make Use of Webfax Address book?
When composing the message you can click on the Address Book link and select the contacts you want. The selected addresses will be automatically added to the list of addresses for the message.
14. When composing the message is it required writing a message text?
A message can contain message text only, attachments only or both the message text and attachments. A message without text and attachments is considered as void and will be rejected.
15. What type of documents can I attach with the message?
WebFax is supporting most of the standard document types like:MSOffice: MSWord (doc and rtf), MS Excel (xls and csv), and MS PowerPoint (ppt). Lotus SmartSuite: Word Pro (lwp), Lotus 123 (wk4) and freelance (prz, pre). Images: jpg, gif, tiff, bmp. Other: pdf, HTML, txt.
16. How do I know the status of my messages?
You can check the status of the messages you have submitted using the “Message Tracking” feature on WebFax web site. This feature shows you whether the message is delivered, rejected or still in progress.
17. Can I change my password online?
Yes, you can change the password from the “Change Access Password” option available on the web site.
18. Can I change the receiving email address?
Yes, you can change the receiving email address from the “Change Fax Receiving Email” option available on the web site.
19. What will be my WebFax No when dialing from outside UAE?
Dialing from outside UAE, the sender has to prefix the WebFax number with UAE country code (00971) and remove the leading zero of the WebFax number. For example if your WebFax number is 084xxxxxx, the sender from outside UAE should dial: 0097184xxxxxx. Form all emirates inside UAE your Webfax number will be always 084xxxxxx.
20. Would I receive any SMS on my mobile upon receiving fax in my email?
No, You will not be able to receive SMS notification if the "auto forward" option is active.
21. Can I send a cover page along with my message?
Yes, you can send WebFax defult cover page by selecting or unselecting the add cover page option when sending the message. On the other hand, you can upload a soft copy of your personalized cover sheet using the “Upload cover sheet” option available on the website.
22. Can I attach more than one document when composing the message?
Yes, it is possible to attach more than one document but make sure the commutative size of the attachments is less than 1.2 MB.
23. Is the Email address in the "From field" required?
Yes, email address is required, as the submission and Delivery notifications will be sent to that email address. You can specify any email address.
24. Is it required to add the Country code when sending international faxes?
Yes, the complete country code is required for sending message to International fax numbers.
25. Can I pay my WebFax bill on-line?
